  • Responsibilities

    The Almaden Valley Athletic Club (AVAC) is seeking 1-2 folks PASSIONATE for family fitness and healthy lifestyles, AND ready and able to impart this passion on future members of our club. The Sales Specialist proactively finds prospective members by fostering ongoing relationships with existing and alumni AVAC members, and inviting them to bring their friends, family, and other guests to the club to experience. We do not cold call nor wait reactively for sales—we use the connections we have both within the walls of the club and out in the community with like-minded organizations.

    The Membership Sales Specialist must be energetic and goal and numbers oriented. They are aware of body language, poise, tone, and other subtle and non-verbal cues. They should be a team player, able to receive an immense amount of feedback, but able to work with minimal supervision.

    Pre-requisites:

    Flexible full-time schedule, able to work weekends

    Ability to obtain CPR/AED Certificate within 30 days. Ability to earn advanced certification in 6 months (Red Cross Lifeguard, Title 22, or similar)

    Ability to quickly attain Program Specialist level knowledge of AVAC, its programs, activities, and facilities

    Ability to pass a background check

    18 Years Old

    Communication. Able to speak and write in English in a professional manner. Effectively influences, motivates, mediates, and informs using a variety of communication mediums.

    Organization. Can prioritize tasks, especially customer and staff concerns. Able to streamline processes, manage projects, and organize documentation.

    Results Oriented. Driven to obtain increased traffic, communication, and community at AVAC. Ensures actions that result in meeting AVAC goals.

    Service. Understands values and practices of successful service organizations. Sets the example for staff in delivering exceptional customer service even and especially under high-stress circumstances. Has the ability to view AVAC, its staff, facilities, and programs through the eyes of a customer and adjust service procedures based on that view.
