The Almaden Valley Athletic Club (AVAC) is seeking a deeply passionate individual who cares about healthy living, active sports, and is excited about leading a team who will impart that passion on others through the sports of tennis and pickleball. Racquet sports have a 45-year history at AVAC from tennis to pickleball, racquetball to platform tennis. Today, we have seven recently renovated hard courts with state-of-the-industry lighting, five dedicated pickleball courts, two observation decks, and a full-service club with all the amenities to foster the AVAC tennis community and promote the sports of tennis and pickleball.

AVAC’s Tennis Director is responsible for managing all aspects of the Tennis Department including tennis member services, adult lessons and clinics, junior lessons, summer camp, social events, USTA leagues, reception and registration, and pro shop management. The primary goals are to 1) grow our tennis membership and 2) grow all tennis and pickleball lessons. The way the Director does this is by leading a stellar team to provide private, group lessons, social events and competitions, promote USTA leagues, and much more quarterly. Additionally, the Director is responsible for identifying facility and equipment needs, delivering typical daily member services, and utilizing member scheduling and account software. The Tennis Director executes independent judgment with minimal supervision, sets the vision for AVAC Tennis, collaborates with the AVAC Management Team, and is accountable for running a profitable department. The Tennis Director reports directly to the General Manager of Operations.

    · Ability to run a pro shop (not including balls) on-site which includes office space, administrative staff, POS software, stringing machine, retail wall space, and wholesale accounts. 10% of sales to be paid to AVAC.

    · $50 per adult member who joins AVAC because of a referral from the Director.

    · Annual profit-sharing based on the performance of AVAC and the AVAC Tennis Department
