POSITION PROFILE (JOB SUMMARY)
This position is responsible for ensuring smooth operations off the terminal, coordinating operations with the terminal, and providing excellent customer service.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS
Pre-approve customer’s hazardous shipments per the 49CFR and enter hazardous materials data into the back office system. Answer questions regarding regulation and stipulations with confidence.
Coordinate with terminal operations on capacity issues, prioritizing cargo and providing trailer booking count to assist with planning.
Perform the southbound notification and scheduling; coordinate northbound transportation of loads and empties to meet the needs of internal and external customer.
Resolve various terminal issues at the main gate.
Reconcile northbound trailer and vehicle totals after sailing.
Provide customer service to internal and external customers.
Resolve customer and vendor issues.
Customer communication internally and externally.
Monitor equipment needs and customer pools based on booking levels, releases, trailer tracing, customer profile and trans loads.
Coordinate yard activities with the Terminal Manager and Longshoremen.
Issue and cancel bookings; set up appointments with customers and vendors.
Other tasks and project as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.
MANUAL DEXTERITY
Requires moderate use of personal computer (word processing and spreadsheets) for compiling reports, statistical data, composing memoranda and other similar documents.
