Settlement Clerk Overview A Chicago-based food manufacturing firm is currently seeking a Settlement Clerk to prepare & scan bank deposits, for our foodservice & retail routes, reconcile, maintain account balances, and analyze various route accounting reports. Position Summary Responsible for analyzing, researching, maintaining company routes, and maintaining check processing for all route locations. Entering and maintaining customer cash payments and balances. Communicating with appropriate Manager and Supervisor with any route discrepancies. Assisting in period and yearly closing. Responsibilities * Preparing and scanning bank deposits * Balancing Route driver commission reports * Emailing and communicating with Managers and Supervisors for all types of issues that may occur. * Closing deposit log for all depots * Data Entry in different databases * Maintain customer cash balances. * Auditing routes * Settling routes daily * Settling routes monthly * Communicating incorrect cash descriptions * Assisting with office clerical duties * Assisting team members with daily workload in absence of any team member Requirements * High School diploma or equivalent * Computer proficiency - Excel and Word * Ability to communicate effectively and proactively * Attention to detail * Ability to analyze data * Organizational skills * Problem solver * Ability to work independently * Basic knowledge of financial terms and principles is a plus * 1 year of experience working in an office setting * Able to travel if required. * Able to work weekends and holidays if required.
