    Job Description

    We are seeking a creative and savvy Social Media Assistant/Intern to help manage conversation across Alpha Industries’ social channels (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube + LinkedIn). This role will partner directly with the Social Media Manager and focus on community development, social copywriting, and some social calendar planning. THE INTERNSHIP IS 15-20 HOURS A WEEK, THE INTERNSHIP WILL LAST FROM SEPTEMBER - DECEMBER 2021.

    CHANNEL MANAGEMENT & MODERATION 80%

    • Respond to questions and comments across Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter in order to foster a positive community and add value to the user’s experience
    • Monitor comments and complaints in a quick and timely manner with the ability to spot warning signs / potential crises
    • Proactive outreach to new users to grow our audience
    • Schedule and post content across social channels
    • Engage in social listening to identify trends and potential influencer partnerships
    • Identify and manage influencer relationships if/when necessary
    • Merchandise social storefronts and ideate on creative strategies to increase sales

    CONTENT PLANNING 20%

    • Source user-generated content and combine with brand assets to curate a social media content library
    • Draft copy to support planned content across all editorial calendars
    • Collaborate with Social Media Manager for approvals of the social media calendars
    • Engage with the Alpha Industries audience, asking for content permissions and cultivating relationships where possible
    • Partner with the Social Media Manager in analyzing data on content performance to create insights and help inform future content strategy

    • Proficiency in social media channels, specifically Instagram, Facebook + Twitter (Tik Tok a plus)
    • A creative eye to curate a cohesive and engaging social platform
    • 1+ years of experience managing social communities or related experience
    • Solid understanding of social media analytics or related analytical experience
    • Proficiency in social media tools (Rival IQ, Brand 24, Curalate, etc)
    • An analytical eye to extract trends from large data sets and translate trends into insights
    • Enthusiastic attitude and flexibility to adapt to the rapidly changing social marketplace
