Alpha Omega Construction Group, Inc. has proudly served the Southeast as an award winning Construction Company for over three decades and we are in need of a HR Manager to join our growing Raleigh team!
This is a Full-time position that provides human resources advice and counsel to various offices, including recruitment and staffing, compensation, legal support, employee relations and benefit administration.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recruiting, onboarding and retention strategies.
- Draft/update job descriptions and summaries for new/open positions.
- Point of contact for benefit administration to include fielding employee questions, benefits orientation for new employees, benefit related problem resolution, status changes, communicating benefit information to employees and assist with benefits open enrollment.
- Maintains personnel files for employees in compliance with applicable local, state and federal law.
- Processes and administers leave of absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, and disability.
- Coaches employees on various HR related topics, including, but not limited to, recruiting, performance and talent management, benefits, and general HR and company policies and procedures.
- Manages the Performance Management process.
- Coach and advise staff on matters regarding conflict resolution, effective communication and relationship building.
- Maintains all OSHA logs; postings and filings accurately and timely.
- Updates, reviews and monitors HRIS software system.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining various building agreements for HVAC, and Fire, and Office cleaning.
- Responsible for ordering and maintaining office supplies, and managing company credit card for miscellaneous purchases.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of human resources administration, effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrates ability to tactfully handle difficult situations.
- Consistently demonstrates ability to recognize and deal with priorities.
- Performs duties in an independent manner with minimal direction and supervision.
- Recognizes and performs duties which need to be performed, although not directly assigned, assisting others as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree preferred in an HR related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years in HR experience, and HR Management.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- CP, PHR or SCP, SPHR preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend and perform moderate travel.
- Light to moderate lifting up to 15 pounds, pushing and pulling abilities.
