    About Alpha Omicron Pi

    Alpha Omicron Pi Fraternity (AOII) has been a pillar in the Fraternity/Sorority Life community since its founding date of January 2, 1897, at Barnard College. Since that date AOII has established chapters on over 200 college campuses across the United States and Canada and initiated more than 200,000 members.     Why an Education, Training, and Events Intern at AOII

    As an Education, Training and Events Intern with AOII, you will gain valuable knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) in the area of interests to carry forward throughout the progression of your education and career. This intern will work in conjunction with the Education, Training, and Events department. The work will primarily focus on record updates, officer training modules/resources, and supporting departmental projects in preparation for international events. Projects may include assisting with writing and editing for officer training resources and modules, auditing content on Fulfilling the Promise, and cataloging and entering historical data. An Intern at AOII may expect weekly check-ins with department peer mentor and bi-weekly check-ins with department director, as well as interactions with other departments and AOII stakeholders.

    • Director of Education, Training, and Events

    Direct Supervisor responsibilities to:

    • No supervisor responsibilities

    Compensation:

    • Non-paid

    Essential Duties or Functions:

    • Work with Headquarters Staff on assigned tasks and project-based initiatives.

    An Education, Training, and Events Intern must be able to demonstrate:

    • Active listening and problem-solving skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to easily engage others in positive dialogue one-on-one or in a group setting, and at many different levels
    • High-level of emotional intelligence
    • Proven ability to think and act independently and the ability to work individually or as a member of a team
    • Skilled at prioritizing duties, working under time constraints, handling multiple tasks, and working independently while remaining flexible to changing priorities and assignments
    • Customer-centric focus, by providing efficient and courteous services to all AOII stakeholders as well as internal partners
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

    Qualifications:

    • Initiated member of Alpha Omicron Pi Fraternity
    • Currently enrolled college student, including graduate students
    • Ability to effectively read, write, and speak the English language
    • Experience in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
    • Two years of relevant education experience preferred

    Working Conditions:

    • Office setting based in Brentwood, TN, remote work capable
      • In-person interns will need to find housing on their own
    • Must be willing to work evening and weekend functions as necessary, some travel may apply
    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on the computer
    • Must be able to lift up-to 15 pounds at times
