    JOB SUMMARY

    The HR Representative provides human resources and administrative support to the local Plant management for a variety of human resources related matters, including talent management, employee relations, along with benefit and payroll administration

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Performs payroll administration utilizing Kronos system; including processing of deductions, taxes, garnishments and unemployment taxes; maintains employee records and prepares reports, including employment verifications, as needed.
    • Reconciles payroll to established Corporate Payroll protocols.
    • Ensures that supervisors and managers are properly trained and effectively editing timecards for accurate pay and attendance purposes.
    • Assist with recruitment and selection for all permanent and temporary positions; manages job postings, conducts initial candidate screening, conducts phone and personal interviews candidates and coordinates interviewing with hiring manger/team.
    • Administers post-offer employment processes including initiating and verifying background/reference checks and substance testing to confirm employment offers; assists hiring managers to prepare onboarding schedule for new hires and conducts new employee orientation.
    • Maintains personnel and departmental records, (including but not limited to; personnel files, pay related documents, and medical, immigration and training files), according to legal requirements and company procedure for record management.
    • Provides assistance with the benefits administration of all company health and welfare programs including medical, dental, vision, life, short and long term disability, FMLA, AD&D, and retirement 401(k). Presents benefit information to employees as assigned.
    • Supports HR Manager to provide information on company HR policies and procedures, benefits programs, and HR initiatives.
    • Assists with performance management and merit planning processes to ensure it is administered in a timely and consistent manner.
    • Support managers in the handling of employee relations issues, provides open-door access to employees in need and escalates issues per set guidelines to Corporate HR and conducts exit interviews and processes for separated employees.
    • Assists Operations in maintaining monthly training logs for safety and OSHA compliance.
    • Responsible for supporting the facility with compliance of all federal, state and local employment law matters.
    • Required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Associate’s Degree in Business Administration or Human Resources preferred; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of Human Resources and/or payroll experience, Kronos experience preferred.
    • Experience handling human resources in a manufacturing environment

    REASONING ABILITY:

    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    COMPUTER SKILLS:

    • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Suite word processing software—highly proficient in Excel and HRIS reporting; preferably with Kronos Workforce Ready Payroll and HR system.
