About the Position:
A keen eye for detail along with a healthy mix of creative and technical know-how makes a production designer a valuable part of a creative team.
While the earliest production designers or “artists” performed paste-up duties for the advertising industry, the position has evolved to include prepress work for offset, digital, and screen print projects. Today, the most common duty for a production designer is design layout, typesetting, preflight formatting, in addition to larger client design projects.
A successful production artist must possess a mix of both creative and technical skills. They must be able to work quickly but also remain extremely detail-oriented. We are looking for an enthusiastic team player to join our “Client First” staff today. Do you have what it takes?
Responsibilities
Prep files for print production focusing on speed, accuracy and appropriate layout
Analyze, plan, and create visual solutions based on client requests.
Support the sales team by effectively conveying the clients’ message in print or digital media using color, type, illustration, and other various techniques
Produce art separations for Screen Print and prep files for other apparel print types
Develop material for Internet web pages, interactive media, and multimedia projects
Remain up to date on changing trends in the graphic design industry.
Execute social media efforts to strengthen brand recognition.
Follow a development timeline to ensure tasks are being completed on schedule
Other duties as assigned.
Measurables and Qualifications:
Success in this role is measured through the accuracy of work, speed of work completion, and team contribution.
Excellent project and time management skills
Ability to communicate ideas visually, orally, and in writing
Creativity and problem solving skills with an eye for detail
Able to accurately discern colors
Self-disciplined self starters find success in this role.
Adobe creative suite experience required
We are a Mac-based shop.
3-5 years in a print production environment preferred

This job is paid hourly between $16 - $18.00 dependent on experience
