AlphaMicron, a manufacturer of high-tech liquid crystal sunglasses and goggles based out of Kent, is looking for eyewear/goggle assemblers.

Temporary position through the summer to start, but may result in a permanent position (with flexible hours during the academic year) for qualified candidates. Competitive benefits offered for permanent positions only. 40 hours/week through the summer preferred. Base wage starting at $11/hr.

Assemblers must be quick, organized, adaptable to change, self-motivated, focused on quality at all times, and team players. Assembly consists of various stations with several general steps in producing each product. Depending on the product requirements, an assembler may perform any or all steps of the line or may perform steps at more than one station.

The general steps of assembly include: Frame Assembly, Lens Integration, Packing, Quality Inspection

Job Responsibilities

• Assembles parts accurately, thoroughly, and quickly to approved specifications
• Read operating procedures and bill of materials to verify parts required prior to assembly
• Maintains up to date records, individual documentation, and general paperwork
• Inform supervisors of any part or equipment defects to ensure prompt response to the problem
• Familiarize yourself with the tools, instrumentation, and calibration equipment

Skills/Requirements

• Assembly line experience a plus
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills a plus
• Attention to detail with precision and accuracy
• Good attendance is a must!
• Ability to meet reasonable quotas with proper training and support
• PC Skills working with Microsoft (Word, Excel, etc)
• Comfortable with basic hand tools, lab equipment, specialized tools & equipment
• Good dexterity with the ability to work with small precision parts
• Ability to lift heavy bins up to 30lbs.
• Good attitude and the ability to work well with others
