    POSITION SUMMARY: 

    The Human Resources Generalist (HRG) provides a broad array of support to client companies in all states through virtual contact (over the phone and email) and onsite visits.  The HRG will provide support to Human Resources Account Managers (HRAMs) and clients by providing basic HR support, service plan follow-up and fulfilment of requests.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The primary responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

    • Provide support to “top 50” (i.e. high-value) accounts in partnership with a HRAM.
    • Work with the HRAM to understand the business and needs of top 50 accounts.
    • Act as an HR consultant to client companies by providing guidance and support on employee relations issues such as performance appraisals, performance improvement plans, investigations, terminations, etc. and report on outcomes to ensure clients are using HR best practices and reducing risk to their company.
    • Coach and counsel clients by identifying problems, evaluating potential solutions and assisting them to implement agreed-upon solutions.
    • Ensure clients comply with federal, state, and local regulatory and statutory requirements by staying up to date with existing and new legislation and advising clients of needed actions.
    • Assist clients with the development and implementation of company policies and procedures.
    • Provide subject matter expertise, guidance, best practices, and counsel to clients for leave of absence regulatory compliance, eligibility, and reporting requirements including FMLA, ADA, state leaves, disability leaves, etc.
    • Assist clients with vendor management for HR programs such as background and drug screenings, job postings, applicant tracking systems, salary surveys, and HRIS including electronic onboarding.
    • Develop state and federally compliant employee handbooks.
    • Lead and deliver employee training initiatives.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree or HR experience in employee relations, state and federal laws, and training in lieu of a degree.
    • Knowledge of state and federal laws, regulations and HR management practices.
    • Computer/tech savvy including proficiency in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
    • Commitment to outstanding customer service.
    • Planning, communication, and follow-up skills.
    • High learning aptitude and comfortable and adaptable in new situations.
    • Travel may be required based on the location of assigned clients. Must have a quiet professional home office.

    NICE TO HAVE:

    • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP.
    • Specialized training in employee relations, training and development, payroll, employee benefits, and workers’ compensation.
    • Presentation or public speaking experience, particularly conducting group education in-person or via webinar.
    • Cloud-based apps including HRIS, CRM, ATS, Talent Management, Performance Management, Document Management (e.g. SharePoint, Dropbox, Drive), Social Media Platforms, and Chat and Video Platforms (e.g. Teams, Zoom, Slack).
    • A background as an HR Business Partner.
    • Professional employer organization (PEO) experience.
    • A background in client services or account management.
