Assistant Innkeeper at Manitou Lodge - Part Time
Position Summary The part-time Assistant Innkeeper is responsible for all Manitou guests' relations, including satisfaction/resolution of any issues to exceed expectations. This position will also ensure an inviting atmosphere for all guests, tidy common areas, and provide breakfast. The Assistant Innkeeper will also be responsible for housekeeping during their shifts. This dynamic position has close guest contact, flexible hours, a fun environment, and an independent working atmosphere.
This position will begin in June 2024. The individual will be based at the Manitou Lodge, and the hours will be Su-Mo from 6 AM to 5 PM, based on duties with a flexible 1-2 hour break during the shift. Additional hours would be available at various times during the week, depending on housekeeping needs.
Essential Responsibilities
Coordinate with guests regarding pre-arrival, check-in, stay, and departure details via phone and email.
Strip rooms of garbage and linens post-checkout.
Clean rooms up after guests have departed and prepare them to arrival standards.
Register guest vehicles using the Town of Telluride online parking portal system.
Set up and cleaned daily breakfast, restocked, and replenished throughout service as necessary.
Respond to and resolve guest service requests and property issues via work order entry and follow-up; provide guests additional linen or amenities as requested.
Maintain a clean and neat office, housekeeping closet, and common areas. Common areas include interior hallways, patio/deck, exterior walkways, common area kitchen and bathroom, stairs, and ski locker/garden area.
Perform pre-arrival inspections of clean rooms.
Execute basic repairs on the property, such as light bulb replacement, trash removal, and troubleshooting of wifi routers, TVs, appliances, thermostats, etc.
Exhibit strong knowledge of Telluride and the surrounding area to promote additional activities and services.
And other duties as assigned.
Essential Job Requirements
EDUCATION: High school graduate or equivalent experience preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS: Fluent in verbal and written English. Flexible work schedule, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays. Must be highly organized, have top-level customer service and excellent communication skills, and be polite, patient, and knowledgeable of the hospitality industry.
PREFERRED SKILLS: Attention to detail, politeness, patience, and ability to handle food safely.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to ascend/descend stairs and lift/carry/push/pull 20 pounds
