Position Summary:
The primary responsibility is to provide courteous, prompt and thorough customer service to all Hotel Columbia guests.
Essential Job Functions:
Provide excellent guest service through a willingness to help, authentic care and genuine concern for guest needs
Complete all job tasks as outlined in the front desk checklists and weekly checklists in a timely and thorough fashion.
Thoroughly communicate to all guests pre-arrival, provide quick and helpful check-in, assist with guest’s needs while in-house, and provide excellent customer service. Foster a welcoming hotel environment by keeping the common areas tidy and being cheerful and polite to all who enter the building.
Anticipate guest’s needs through effective communication
Attend to daily breakfast service – setting up and tearing down buffet, pouring guest drinks, restocking food, operating dishwashers, making conversation with guests, creating and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
Generate work orders based on reports from guests and housekeeping, following up until completion. Perform basic maintenance tasks to ensure safety and functionality of building and rooms.
Daily problem-solving, utilizing the tools provided as well as creative, out-of-the-box thinking
Assist with valet service to guests who choose to park on site. Must have valid driver’s license.
Assist guests in making new reservations via phone, email or in person
Other duties as assigned by management.
Essential Job Requirements:
EDUCATION: High school graduate, college graduate or equivalent experience preferred
EXPERIENCE: Background in hospitality and 1-3 years of customer service preferred
REQUIRED SKILLS: Must be proficient in MS Office; Outlook or Gmail email platforms. Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
PREFERRED SKILLS: V12 by Instant Software
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to climb stairs regularly and lift up to 20 pounds. Must be able to sit in an office chair for extended periods, and respectfully share a common workspace.
