Alt is on a mission to make investing in alternative assets as easy as investing in stocks. We are redefining alternative assets to include new asset classes that have historically been relegated to the territory of hobbyists and collectors, rather than investors. With Alt, we're turning sports cards – and eventually watches, sneakers, and art – into investable assets.

Our investors include VCs such as 776, First Round Capital, BoxGroup, SV Angel as well as notable angels such as the founders of Stripe, Blackrock and Coinbase. Some professional athletes, including Kevin Durant, Larry Fitzgerald, and Tobias Harris all across different sports have also invested in Alt.

The impact you will make: As our Backend Engineer, you will be owning one of the most essential pieces of our technology stack - the data pipeline and infrastructure. Our data touches every single part of our product, from helping customers research and understand the market, to the core inputs into our pricing models. You will be working closely with the rest of the Alt team to prioritize what data we need for our product, building and improving the data pipeline and serving data across our system.

YOU WILL:

• Building, iterating and owning Alt's data pipelines & infrastructure
• Experience building CI/CD and deployment pipelines 
• Experience designing and building production APIs 
• Designing and scaling out our data ETL pipeline and systems
• Providing data products that is crucial to our business and the downstream application teams
• Partner with product to prioritize key data sources
• Help build and define the data discipline in Alt from the ground up

You have:

• 3+ years of experience working with ETL pipelines and data infrastructure
• Experience with handling unstructured data, such as HTML and plain text
• Experience in technologies such as AWS, Python, Airflow, Terraform, Postgres
• Product-oriented mindset
• Excellent communication skills
