ALTANOVA is now actively hiring for an Energy & Power Engineering Analyst in our New York office.

This position is at the intersection of **Energy & Power Engineering, Optimization & Data Science, and Sustainability **fields. We are looking for a candidate with a strong interest in those three fields.

What will you be doing?

Altanova is supporting the development of microgrid projects. We focus specifically on the solar panel, battery, and EV charging station technologies to provide resiliency, cost savings, and cleaner energy to our customers.

In this position, you will support the team in analyzing and improving those projects and developing our modeling capabilities.

This will include:

• Continue the development of our microgrid modeling algorithm:

  • Construct models to predict the hourly energy consumption of buildings
  • Develop different optimization levels to provide real-time management capabilities
  • Deploy our algorithm on the cloud to provide an "As a Service" solution
  • Conduct research to understand the needs of a specific grid, available ancillary services, and potential impacts of a microgrid installation

• Support the development of microgrid project:

  • Support microgrid feasibility analysis for a facility
  • Interact with the client, the utility, the suppliers, and the different stakeholders of the project.

To join us, we need you to have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Operation Research, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
• A Master's degree or current enrollment in a higher education program is a plus. Outstanding Bachelor's students in their final year will also be considered.
• Proficiency in Python. Experience in the Django framework is a plus.
• Experience in renewable energy technologies (photovoltaics, wind, distributed generation), the energy industry, and/or microgrid development
• Familiar with continuous optimization methods (linear programming) and constraint optimization.
• Experience with statistical methods and machine learning algorithms. Familiarity with time series analysis is a plus.
