We are looking for a MANAGER, MORTGAGE LOAN UNDERWRITING . The Manager is tasked with driving Operations, developing and delivering best-in-class services for both internal and external clients. This is a great time to join the team and be a part of a growing and stable organization.
Job Description
WHAT DO YOU GET TO DO?
- Manage daily operations of underwriters; ensure quality standards and professionalism in the underwriting process.
- Maintain knowledge and current understanding of all conventional underwriting guidelines for agencies and private investors (Ex. FANNIE MAE, FREDDIE MAC, LQI, Dodd-Frank, TRID)
- Assure compliance with policies and procedures outlined in the investor guides and contractual obligations, as well as state and federal regulations and regulatory requirements
- Responsible for working with the underwriting staff to ensure all are made aware of changes/ updates in a timely and effective manner, and ensure business units are implementing and following compliant processes
- Determine and facilitate training and technical assistance as needed
- Assist management in the development and maintenance of up-to-date policies and procedures in the underwriting process
- Interact with clients and maintain frequent communications to ensure quality service and on time delivery of work product, responding and reporting on client inquiries
- Identify and resolve issues and policy questions from auditors and clients
- Prepare all reports by function and client on a monthly basis
- Attend industry seminars that will enhance the quality of our process and work product
- Develop and maintain evaluation methods to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement while also measuring customer satisfaction and ROI on revenue expenditures
Qualifications
OPTIMAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 5 years of conventional Mortgage Frontline Underwriting experience
- At least 5 years of Managerial experience in the Mortgage Industry
- Knowledge of AUS systems (DU and LP) required
- Up-to-date knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures within mortgage lending
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent computer navigation skills with proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office, and Industry Loan Origination Systems.
