Fully remote since our founding in 2021, we're in the right space at the right time. We just closed a $1.5m funding round and things are moving fast.
The ALTERNATIVE INVESTMENT ANALYST is a newly created role that will be critical to our success. We're off to a great start and are looking for a smart, hungry, data-driven analyst who can crank our research into high gear.
About the Role
At Alts, we pride ourselves on using ‘Moneyball' tactics to find undervalued and hidden gem investing opportunities.
Our picks were up over 400% for 2021, and our Chief Investment Officer needs an analyst to kick this up a notch (yes we can and will do better).
How you'll spend your days:
QUICKLY UNDERSTAND AND MASTER TWO-DOZEN DIFFERENT ASSET CLASSES. Become an expert in and understand the similarities and differences among them. How do returns compare among the asset classes? Where are positive and negative correlations? Which asset classes are about to moon, and which are going to zero?
Some of the asset classes you'll master include:
RESEARCH NEVER-BEFORE-DOCUMENTED DATASETS AND ANALYZE THE RESULTS. Our bleeding-edge analysis is breaking new ground with the asset classes above (and others), and the data simply isn't available for many of them. You'll help uncover price history, record it, build indices, and make judgments about where the assets are going. Some grunt work may be involved.
STAY UP TO DATE WITH DAILY AND WEEKLY DEVELOPMENTS AMONG THOSE ASSET CLASSES AND REPORT THE MOST SALIENT, SIGNIFICANT, AND ACTIONABLE POINTS. For many of the asset classes we cover, the winds can change weekly, daily, or even hourly. You'll need to set up a data feed, ingest the relevant information, digest it, and turn it into actionable insights.
MAKE BUY, SELL, AND ALLOCATION RECOMMENDATIONS. Once you've mastered the three points above, you'll be relied upon to make considered and intelligent recommendations about not only which assets to buy and sell, but also which assets and asset classes work well together (and which don't).

YOU'RE BRILLIANT, AND YOU'RE HUNGRY FOR A HUGE CHALLENGE. This stuff is hard, but the rewards are immense.
YOU'VE GOT A MIND FOR MATH, BUT YOU'RE AN EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATOR. You know what covariance, Moore's Law, and the Sharpe Ratio are, and you can explain them to a five-year-old.
YOU'RE A TEAM PLAYER. You can speak not only to your accomplishments but to the teammates and people around you who helped you get there.
YOU THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX. You don't do the same stuff everyone else does, you know how to play by the rules, and also when to break them. You aren't afraid to take risks or try new things — in fact, it's what you crave.
YOU'RE INTO THIS STUFF. Perhaps you work in the financial industry or are an investor yourself, or maybe it's just the part of twitter you like to hang out in. Whatever and however you got an interest in alts, we'd love to turn that passion into something even bigger.
