Foster Coordinator
Job purpose
Manage, facilitate and promote the foster process for dogs/cats.
Duties and responsibilities
Complete entire foster process from application acceptance to attaching approved foster to appropriate dog/cat via Shelterluv
Coordinate with medical staff to understand medical status and ensure dogs/cats are available for vet visits
Schedule meet and greets for dogs/cats in the barn, boarding
Coordinate staff to be available to attend meet and greets
Create content schedule to promote foster dogs/cats online and social media
Gather photos and videos of dogs/cats to promote online
Coordinate with adoption coordinator to share status of dogs/cats in foster homes. Communicate if foster animals will be a foster fail.
Assist with volunteer orientation
Be present for open houses/event at the barn
Check in weekly with fosters
Organize/Manage volunteers in reference to foster work
Coordinate with transportation staff to ensure dogs are ready for transport and have/obtain necessary up-to date paperwork
Coordinate with barn staff to ensure staff is ready/aware when new dogs/cats arrive
Spend specific no. of hours at barn per week and visiting dogs in boarding (vol orientation/open houses, events, etc. included in min.)
Counsel fosters on the foster process, finding a good fit, and what to expect when you get home with your foster dog
Update status of dogs/cats and attributes of dogs as needed in ShelterLuv
Schedule and perform home visits for potential fosters as needed
Manage other Foster Counselors as needed
Utilize Google calendar to coordinate with other groups
