Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) Job Description

The CNA provides clients with the highest quality of direct routine care in all activities of daily living, under the supervision of the LPN or RN and in accordance with the MDH Nursing Assistant Program standards, the Resident’s Bill of Rights.

According to the Plan of Care for the client, CNA's apply skills in basic nursing, personal care and basic restorative services while understanding the mental health and social service needs of the resident and being mindful of the needs in cognitively impaired clients.

Skills and Qualifications:

(MUST HAVE) Current registration with the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry.

Able to travel to different Amanicare facilities.

Communicate effectively both written and verbally.

Make decisions and complete tasks with little or no supervision.

Respond to changing situations in a flexible manner.

Maintain confidentiality.

Read, write and speak the English language.

Assist people to meet personal and physical needs.

This includes but is not limited to; personal care, changing, dressing, feeding, bathing, medication administration, personal goals, vital signs as needed.

Assist people to maintain a personalized and safe living environment.

Communicate effectively both written and verbally.

Make decisions and complete tasks with little or no supervision.

Respond to changing situations in a flexible manner.
