    Role & Responsibility

For this role, you will have had substantial management experience in the execution of the extraordinary custom luxury home building. It’s most likely you have a background in rough and finish carpentry which gives you a fine eye for detail and quality control. Strong carpentry skills are important to this company because its management comes from a bags-on carpentry background. You have read so many plan sets you can discern design problems and ambiguities to refine. You naturally mentor carpenters and your foreman throughout the day. This particular project has quite a strong foreman.

Ultimately, as a site superintendent, you are a professional communicator. Between collaborating with the project manager, lining out self-perform crews, managing subcontractor crews, and schedules, and maintaining the daily log there is a lot of calm, even-tempered problem-solving with counterparts for mutual success. You are used to setting the project’s safety standards and attitude. A significant bellwether of your success will be positive feedback from trade partners and project stakeholders - You know how to find and communicate win/win solutions.

Computer skills are valuable in this role. You can be successful without them but at some cost. Experience with Procore, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Excel are of particular value. Putting together a three-week look ahead schedule is not a problem for you.

The unique space challenges of the bay area do not scare you. You know how to solve parking problems, creative material storage, municipal permitting, and keep friendly terms with neighbors.
