    ABOUT THE POSITION


    Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG), one of the world’s largest entertainment companies and a leader in the field, is looking to add a North American Controller to our steadily growing organization! We are looking to find a highly skilled and experienced professional for this role. In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing financial activities specific to the North American operations, including month-end close, external audit processes, and working closely with an outside CPA/Tax firm. You will also lead a team of two direct reports, each managing teams of 4-6 individuals. This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer. It is crucial in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with relevant regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to the organization's North American division.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Oversee the month-end closing process for the North American operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
    • Review and analyze financial statements, trial balances, and general ledger accounts to identify any discrepancies or errors.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary financial data and resolve any issues related to month-end close activities.
    • Play a critical role in the selection and implementation of a new ERP within the next 1-2years
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors during the annual audit process for the North American division.
    • Collaborate with the external CPA/tax firm on planning, compliance, and reporting matters specific to the North American operations.
    • Provide necessary financial data and documentation for tax filings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to tax regulations.
    • Foster a positive work environment, promoting collaboration, productivity, and continuous improvement

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. A CPA designation is highly preferred.
    • Proven experience (10+ years) in financial accounting, month-end close, and external audit processes.
    • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and experience in applying accounting principles.
    • Extensive experience working with external auditors and managing the audit process.
    • Familiarity with tax regulations and experience collaborating with CPA/Tax firms.
    • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with a demonstrated ability to motivate and develop teams.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
    • Proficiency in financial software systems and advanced knowledge of MS Excel. ERP Implementation experience a major plus!
