    POSITION: Payroll Specialist I

    LOCATION: SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS (HYBRID REMOTE AFTER 90 DAYS)

    HOURS: Full time. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

    COMPENSATION: $38,000 - $48,000 based on experience

    ABOUT THE POSITION

    An established global live performance venue management company is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join the North American Payroll Team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful company in an exciting and unique industry.

    • Responsibilities
      1. Assist employees through electronic onboarding.
      2. Timely process employee changes such as deductions, garnishments, pay rate changes, withholding changes, terminations, etc.
      3. Review timecard data (ABI Mastermind) for completion and compliance with state, local and department level work rules and supervisory approvals
      4. Process employee Time & Attendance data, import and reconcile variances in ADP WorkforceNow.
      5. Familiarize with various Collective Bargaining Agreements as they pertain to payroll processing and employee benefits
      6. Validate reports and reconcile payroll prior to transmission of payroll.
      7. Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
      8. Develop an in-depth understanding of the Time and Attendance and Payroll Databases to provide customer service to supervisors and employees for payroll related matters
      9. Respond to employee related requests from third parties (employment verification and unemployment claims)
      10. Create, audit, and maintain electronic employee payroll files and records
      11. Other payroll duties as requested

    PEOPLE, PLACES, AND THINGS

    • This position will work out of the downtown San Antonio, TX office located near the Majestic Theatre. Partial remote work after 90 days may be available.
    • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and scanners.

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    • 2 or more years of in-house payroll processing experience required
    • Experience using ADP Workforce Now preferred
    • Experience with Union employees preferred
    • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office programs
    • Working knowledge of payroll best practices
    • Knowledge of basic federal and state regulations regarding payroll
    • Outgoing and positive attitude complemented by a professional demeanor
