Its award winning approach towards sustainability makes AFEMEA the preferred partner for customers looking for responsible packaging solutions.” Amcor American Canyon is looking for a CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT PROCESS ENGINEER that will be responsible for the deployment of the continuous improvement process at Amcor American canyon facility, and the associated cost savings realized through the delivery and execution of continuous improvement projects. Analysis, identification of improvement opportunities, collaboration, and project management are critical for this position.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
· CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
o Establish, monitor, and analyze KPIs
o Establish, implement and improve processes and standards across the facility
o Identify and implement improvement opportunities to increase the operational efficiency and creative cost reduction opportunities
o Determine the financial impact of process improvements in collaboration with the business analyst
· PROJECT MANAGEMENT
o Conduct continuous improvement projects, in particular, waste minimization and machine set-up improvement projects
o Mapping and determining the costs of the projects
o Support Six Sigma and Lean projects
· COMMUNICATION AND COLLABORATION
o Communicate metrics and projects objectives, status, barriers, and results to all levels of the organization and external stakeholders if necessary.
o Collaborate, advise, and assist in the coordination of various programs (e.g., procurement, quality, safety)
o Work in collaboration with internal and external contacts on multiple topics.
· Working as production support and acting as a Production Manager back-up as needed
· Other related duties as assigned
· Travel 10%
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Education: Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Computer Science, Data Analytics or related field.
· 3-5 years of experience in engineering, continuous improvement, supply chain or data analytics
· Experience in consumer-goods / packaged-goods, especially beverage and alcohol, preferred
· Thorough knowledge of continuous improvement theory and practice such as Lean Manufacturing principles
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and Project Management software
· Good Project Management skills
· Spanish and/or French is a plus
· Valid driver’s license
