About the Position

Ray of Life Collective is seeking an enthusiastic and community-minded AmeriCorps Gardener/Farm Educator to help maintain productive garden and farm spaces while providing engaging educational experiences for children and community members.

This opportunity is ideal for someone interested in gardening, agriculture, sustainability, education, youth development, and community service.

Responsibilities

Establish, plant, maintain, and beautify gardens and farm spaces

Grow vegetables, herbs, flowers, and other crops

Teach children and community members about gardening, nutrition, and sustainability

Assist with harvesting and composting

Prepare and maintain garden beds

Help create beautiful, productive, and engaging outdoor learning spaces

Support community gardening and educational activities

Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age or older

Passion for gardening, agriculture, youth, education, or community service

Willing and able to work outdoors

Eager to learn new gardening and farming skills

Dependable and able to work effectively as part of a team

Strong work ethic and positive attitude

Must successfully complete a required background check

Reliable transportation is a plus

AmeriCorps Living Allowance & Benefits

Full-Time: $1,952.38 per month $7,395 Education Award upon successful completion of service

Members may also be eligible for professional development and leadership training, student loan forbearance/deferment on qualifying loans, childcare assistance, and health coverage.
