The Safety Generalist plays an important role in AAE by providing guidance for safety. The goal for this position is to assure safety for our operations. American Aluminum Extrusion supplies quality aluminum extrusions and fabrications with high standards for meeting or exceeding design and tolerance specifications in some of the most demanding fabricated product markets. Position Summary: The Safety Generalist is responsible for the development and coordination of AAE's safety operations and overall risk management. Update, enforce, and develop as needed, appropriate safety and emergency policies /procedures. Partner with department supervisors to ensure appropriate safety training and OSHA compliance. Primary Responsibilities: * Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions in the workplace. * On-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices. * Ensure Federal, State and local regulations, codes are observed, updated as regulation and requirements change. * Manage written programs, recordkeeping and reporting requirements, including the SDS system. * Oversee safety training to meet OSHA requirements. * Compile, analyze, interpret, and report accidents, including near misses.
