    Job Description

    The American Angus Association is now accepting applications for a VIDEO COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST in its St. Joseph, MO office. This position is responsible for gathering interviews, perspectives and imagery through video, both in-studio and in the field, and conducting post-production work that includes editing, sound mixing, graphics and other creative needs across multiple media platforms.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assist in the regular production of Angus University webinars and online content.
    • Assist during in-studio shoots, including videography, lighting and sometimes conducting interviews.
    • Produce videos requested by Association departments.
    • Produce video advertisements and promotions for the Association and outside clients.
    • Conduct general videography and photography as needed.
    • Assist in video distribution planning and strategy through various social media and streaming platforms.
    • Travel as needed, independently or as a team, to capture events, location shoots and industry meetings.
    • Assist in maintaining video team equipment and studio space.
    • Contribute to the development of overall video strategy.
    • Execute other duties as assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Excellent photography and videography skills.
    • Excellent interview, editing, and storytelling skills.
    • Must be comfortable with applicable computer software and other technology, specifically, Adobe creative products such as Premiere Pro and After Effects. Experience in Adobe Audition and Photoshop is helpful but not mandatory.
    • Excellent communication skills, including written and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to organize, prioritize and execute multiple activities simultaneously.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, following procedures and meeting regular deadlines.
    • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
    • 15-20% travel is expected for this position, potentially over weekends.
    • Position requires regular in-office work.
    • Must be a team player, eager to collaborate and share ideas.
    • Must be reliable and dependable.
    • A positive attitude and a desire to grow is a must.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

    • Applicable degrees in agricultural communications, journalism, broadcast media, convergent media and other applicable fields, or equivalent work experience.
    • Must have practical experience in a media environment through education, internships or employment.
    • An agricultural background or animal science focus is preferred.
