American Carbonyl has a great opportunity for a Production Engineer to join our growing team!
Job Summary
This position will oversee and improve production throughout plants by supporting engineering teams, drafting safety protocols, reporting issues to management, and creating strategies that will enhance efficiency and profits; Ensure all health and safety codes are followed throughout a shift; Train staff how to use machinery and identify issues in a production line responsibly.
Responsibilities
Learn plant operations, equipment, and production.
Work closely with Site Manager, Production Supervisor, and production personnel to find ways to improve the existing plant processes
Coordinate with production and maintenance on procedures for non-routine operation and small outages.
Provide expertise to reduce manufacturing costs, improve product quality, and ease system operation
Participate in the design and implementation of equipment and process improvements, material of construction improvements, and efficiency and cost control improvements
Assist with the identification, development, installation, and startup of process improvements
Engineering assignments may include energy and material balance studies, process equipment specifications and modifications, and procedure development and improvement
Coordinate design and start-up of small projects or moderate process modification
Prepare AFEs for ‘small scale’ capital projects and follow these projects to a successful completion
Serve as site technical liaison for shared services; EHS&Q, Maintenance, Engineering, etc.
Participate in PSM and EHS activities as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
2+ years of experience in processing/manufacturing
Engineering aptitude, high attention to detail, and the ability to optimize production processes for maximum efficiency are necessary skills for this role.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency using Microsoft Suite (Excel, Access)
Ability to effectively lead and direct employees
Possess a wide breadth of knowledge in mathematics, chemistry, physics, and mechanics
Detail-oriented and extremely efficient
Ability to maintain positive vendor and client relationships
