Accounting Supervisor

Growing real estate investment and development company, located on the east side of metro Detroit, seeks an exceptional person to join our team. Job Description:

This position will report directly to the Chief Accounting Officer. Primary responsibilities will include:

• Directly supervise (2) construction accountants and (1) accounts payable accountant
• Indirectly supervise (6) partnership and corporate accountants
• Ensure all monthly, quarterly & yearly tasks are completed accurately and on time
• Prepare and review corporate financial statements
• Detail review real estate partnership financial statements & Form 1065 tax returns
• Manage and track tax return filings
• Coordinate with 3rd party auditor and tax return preparers
• Timberline / Sage 300 accounting system administrator & data governance duties
• IRS Form 1099 reviews & submission
• Communicate directly with external lenders, investors and other stakeholders
• Complete special projects and assignments in the areas of financial reporting, compliance and automation

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 3+ years accounting role experience required
• Previous supervisor / manager experience is a plus
• Masters’ degree in accounting or CPA is a plus
• Advanced working knowledge of Excel and Word
• Analytical skills plus excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-starter, well organized, able to prioritize, effective at multi-tasking
• Readily accepts challenges of unfamiliar tasks
• Detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines under pressure
• Enthusiastic, excellent interpersonal skills, with a strong work ethic
• Timberline / Sage 300 or QuickBooks accounting software experience is a plus

Job Type:

Salary:

· $70,000 - $80,000 target (actual salary dependent on experience & qualifications)
