    Job Description

    OVERVIEW

    The Food Purchasing Manager is a shore side management position with occasional travel to ships.  The Food Purchasing Manager is directly responsible for controlling the food, wine, liquor, and hotel consumables purchasing program and ensures compliance with the budget.  The Food Purchasing Manager oversees all vendor relationships and supervises shore side purchasing coordinators.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Oversees food purchasing program
    • Purchasing and procurement of food, alcohol, and restaurant supplies
    • Generate purchase orders
    • Provide on time delivery to ships
    • Negotiates prices, contracts, rebates, and other purchasing programs with vendors
    • Manages and maintains food budget
    • Ensures purchases do not exceed budget
    • Coordinates and assists with food purchasing strategy, logistics, and oversight of food vendors
    • Ensures Chefs maintain proper food inventory
    • Ensures all dietary requirements, food allergies, and other special requests ingredients are ordered
    • Provides weekly summary of all special passenger requests

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum 5 years’ corporate food purchasing experience at a full-service hotel, resort, or cruise ship
    • Strong organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills (English)
    • Available for occasional travel
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel and Power Point

    WORK SCHEDULE:

    • Position requires some travel
    • 10% travel to ships
