    2ND SHIFT WAREHOUSE LEAD

    MILWAUKEE, WI

     

    Warehouse Lead Associates are expected to direct the day-to-day warehouse activities in the distribution center including picking, packing, and loading of customer orders and transfers. Ensure that all customer orders and branch transfers are filled, packaged, loaded, and delivered correctly and on schedule. Monitor to ensure that security procedures are being followed.

     

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Direct and perform a variety of warehousing duties such as loading, checking, order picking, and shipping.
    • Monitor and verify the accuracy of outbound shipments by checking items and quantities against picking documents. 
    • Ensure that all customer orders and branch transfers are filled, packaged, loaded, and delivered correctly and on schedule. Monitor to ensure that security procedures are being followed.
    • Monitor equipment maintenance and housekeeping. Shares information concerning best practices, procedures, and policies to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
    • Assist in training and development of associates. Monitors attendance, hours worked and job performance.
    • Participates in and follows all Viking policies, guidelines, and procedures (safety, Anti-Harassment, Ethics, etc.).
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills

    • Strong, effective, and professional communication skills including speaking with customers face-to-face and over the phone
    • Understand customer requests and identify appropriate materials and parts.
    • Mechanical aptitude such as an interest in automotive, engineering or construction
    • Daily use of technology 
    • Manual dexterity for order processing and other material handling
    • Ability to work independently and cooperatively as a team player
    • Ability to adapt quickly to changes and handle pressure such as customer service demands and tight time constraints
    • Must be able to work independently and cooperatively as a team player.
    • Must be organized and have excellent communication, math, mechanical aptitude, reading and listening skills.
    • Positive commitment to accomplish department/company goals.
    • Forklift operations and operating other warehouse equipment.
