    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Vallen’s Business Analysts are responsible for researching data sources and acquiring company, supplier, product, and/or competitor information to assist leadership in identifying trends, business process enhancements/improvements, and tools to provide Vallen a competitive edge and contribute to the achievement of the company’s business, sales and marketing goals. Business Analysts will analyze and translate various forms of data into information from which strategic business, sales, product and/or marketing business decisions can be made.  They are responsible for maintaining an effective level of business literacy regarding Vallen’ operations, sales and marketing strategies, goals and financial position, and industry competition.  

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    •  Gather, interpret, and analyze various forms of data elements using statistical techniques; summarize information, identify trends, and prepare presentations from which decisions can be made.
    • Research and benchmark state-of-the-art practices, industry and product trends to assist in the advancement of Vallen’s operational, sales and/or marketing efforts.
    • Collaborate with Vallen business leaders, Product Managers, customers and IT to improve and/or develop applications to support strategic objectives and product management.Analyze current systems/tools and product data elements.
    • Identify and recommend projects that implement data collection systems, databases, and various forms of data analytics to support strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
    • Oversee initiated projects throughout their project life-cycle; monitor project progress and prepare progress reports.
    • Interview stakeholders to understand processes, objectives, desired outputs and formats.
    • Accurately document business/project objectives and functional requirements from which technical specifications may be written; ensure requirements are testable, understood by all stakeholders, and adhere to all Vallen documentation standards.
    • Design and document data maps.
    • Use standard measures to assess project quality; make recommendations for correction action during the course of a project as identified; escalate issues timely to ensure project timelines are not impacted.
    • Assess and document any required changes and make recommendations for change management to the project plan.
    • Prepare test cases and execute them prior to enhancement or system implementation to validate requirements have been met.
    • Make recommendations for and implement improvements to documentation standards and processes.
    • May assist in the development of supplier scorecards or other forms of successful activity measurement.
    • Actively participate in business line reviews, key supplier meetings, and internal support team meetings as requested.
    • Participate in Vallen’s ongoing integration initiatives.
    • Perform other data analytics and duties as assigned.

     

     

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

     Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Business coupled with 1+ years of relevant experience. Relevant experience should include:

    • Demonstrated working knowledge of deciphering and effectively transitioning business requirements into functional and/or technical requirements from which technical specifications can be written for coding instruction.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively, both conceptually and tactically, with a diverse group of people both internally and externally (e.g., internal team members and leadership, external suppliers and/or vendors).
    • Demonstrated competencies aligning with customer interfacing and successful project oversight.
    • Technical proficiency with MS-Office suite of products including MS-Word, MS-Excel, and MS-PowerPoint.
    • Detailed analytical abilities.
    • Strong problem solving skills and/or aptitude.
    • Self-starter with the ability to multi-task several priorities and deliver to project deadlines.
    • Demonstrated collaboration skills.
    • Ability to facilitate training, group sessions, and workshops.

    • Long periods of time working on a computer and performing key-boarding activities.
    • Flexible work schedules may be required to accommodate project deadlines.
    • Travel may be required with minimal advance notice.

  • Qualifications
    • Strong verbal and written skills.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology, infection control and safety.
    • Current CPR certification.
    • Good understanding of nursing principles.
    • Good understanding of patient/family teaching principles.
    • Knowledge of computer practice management systems and other computerized systems (Microsoft Office programs, electronic health record systems).
    • Good communication skills, bilingual in Spanish helpful.
