    Our multi-specialty Ambulatory Surgery Center in New Lenox, IL is seeking an experienced PRE / POS-OP /PACU CHARGE NURSE to add to our outstanding team! Enjoy no weekends, call or holidays! Seeking experience with pediatrics and adults.

    PRE / POS-OP /PACU CHARGE NURSE JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible and accountable for coordinating and supervising the nursing care provided to patients pre-operatively and post-operatively
    • Prepares the next day's staffing schedule
    • Use effective conflict resolution techniques
    • Independent decision making skills
    • Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients, families and vendors
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians and fellow employees (TEAMWORK)
    • Demonstrates accountability, creativity, innovation and be receptive to change
    • Coordinates and assists in Quality Assurance Performance Improvement Projects
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word and EXCEL
    • Assist Clinical Director in managing labor hours 
    • Utilizes low census & daily hours spreadsheet in a fair & equitable manner
    • Knowledgeable of ASC policies and procedures
    • Assistance in maintaining compliance for Joint Commission survey
    • Assists with education by coordinating and/or giving in-services.
    • Reports to Clinical Director

    Required Skills

    EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE - PRE / POST-OP / PACU CHARGE NURSE

    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
    • Current Illinois Nursing License
    • Current BLS, ACLS and PALS
    • Minimum of 2 years experience in Pre-Op/PACU
    • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
    • Understand principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
    • Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics
    • Knowledge base to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors
    • Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
    • Excellent teaching skills
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills
    • Demonstrate strong professional and ethical behavior
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians and fellow employees. (TEAMWORK)
    • Strong customer service skills
    • Demonstrate accountability, creativity, innovation and be receptive to change
    • Possess basic knowledge of Performance Improvement ideology
