Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation under the supervision of a Certified SANE or as delegated by the Mgr. Trauma Education and Prevention. Provides timely medical/forensic examination of the Sexual Assault/Forensic patient under the authorization of a law enforcement agency or adult or child protective services. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Utilizes knowledge of patient’s age and cultural diversity in the provision of patient care. Contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care. Takes on-call responsibilities with a 60-minute response time.

Work Experience Two years of clinical experience required, preferably in Trauma, Emergency Department, ICU, Women’s Health or related field.
License/Registration/Certification
a. Eight sexual assault examinations using the collection kit (estimated time 15 hours) on adults, plus b. Ten sexual assault examinations (estimated time 15 hours) on children. Six on prepubescent and four on adolescent.
