    Job Summary

    Provides general medical care under the direction of a licensed provider to patients in an outpatient clinic setting.

    Responsibilities

    Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical exam

    Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients

    Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner

    Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure

    Draw blood and preparation labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing

    Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions

    Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations

    Ensure patient immunizations are well documented, administered in accordance with approved procedure, and stored appropriately

    Conduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as-needed basis

    Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures

    Maintain complete and accurate documentation

    Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

    Lead Responsibilities

    Interview along with Center Administrator, hire and train Medical Assistant staff

    Conduct ongoing training per center policy

    Coordinate oversight of laboratory with Lab Director, Lab Consultant, and Medical Director as needed

    Conduct weekly inventory

    Coordinate monthly schedule for MA and RT staff (including scheduling challenges or sudden changes) must be available to coordinate schedule to ensure full coverage at all times, and step in to cover as needed

    Qualifications

    Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Active AAMA or NHA Certified Medical Assistant certifications are required. BLS certification required.
