    Job Description

    American Family Fitness is seeking a Part Time Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (20-28 hours per week) to assist our members in reaching their wellness goals through better nutrition at one or more of our state-of-the art facilities. The position reports to the Regional Director of Nutrition Services and the General Manager of the assigned club/s. The Registered Dietitian Nutritionist also works closely with the club’s Fitness Manager, the personal training team and the membership sales team.

    Job Responsibilities

    Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:

    Provide members and guests with memorable experiences by delivering high-quality service in every transaction and interaction.

    Carry out dietitian responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. These include the following:

    o Provide timely communications with members at all times

    o Service individual appointments including body composition testing, resting metabolic rate testing, and nutrition counseling for a variety of health conditions across the lifespan

    o Teach approved nutrition classes and workshops in the club/s, at corporate wellness events, and in the community

    o Develop nutrition resources as assigned including classes, table displays, educational materials, recipes, meal plans, etc.

    o Write research supported nutrition content for website blog, social media, and company newsletter

    o Collaborate with other departments including Personal Training, Café, Kid Zone, Tween Zone, Membership Sales, and Fitness as needed to support company goals

    Responsible for goal setting, managing schedule, and completing assigned tasks with minimal supervision.

    Qualifications

    The successful candidate must have the following education, experience, and skills:

    A Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics or a related field from an accredited college or university.

    Completion of an accredited supervised clinical internship approved by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

    Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with active registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

    Current CPR/AED certification.

    Two or more years of experience in nutrition counseling is strongly preferred.

    Previous experience in fitness setting or athletics strongly preferred.

    Previous experience in sales strongly preferred.

    Enthusiastic, energetic, personable and friendly as well as passionate, intelligent and knowledgeable regarding nutrition in a fitness setting.

    Excellent computer literacy and proficiency.

    Excellent communication, time management, organizational and follow-up skills.

    Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team player.

    Be willing and able to work two or more evenings per week and two or more weekend days per month.

    Be willing and able to travel to all AFF club locations including Williamsburg and Fredericksburg if needed.
