Traveling Affordable Housing Compliance Manager
Job Description
GENERAL FUNCTIONS: Affordable Housing Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing, updating and maintaining operational policies and procedures, completing property internal audits. Traveling within portfolio is required. In between traveling, manager will be working remotely conducting file reviews.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Act as primary gatekeeper for policy and procedure updates and modifications. Responsible for communication and coordinating proper training for field employees.
• Key participant in the Streamlining Committee formed to constantly evaluate, update and improve policies and procedures on site.
• Complete property compliance audits at each community on an annual basis. Ensure evolution and relevance of the internal audit process with changing policies and procedures over time.
• Oversee the company operation software support function
• Key participant in the testing and evaluation of new software solutions.
• Analyze operating statements on a quarterly basis to look for accounting inaccuracies, missing invoices, double payments or any other discrepancies.
• Knowledge of property management software such as Yardi or One-Site
• Assist with the due diligence process for potential new acquisitions. Included set up of all operating software systems.
• Special projects as assigned.
• Conduct all business in accordance with company policies and procedures.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Previous experience with multifamily property investments. On site and corporate office experience preferred.
• Audit and compliance related experience in related field.
• Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency of MS Office, Excel, Power Point, Property Management operating systems (Yardi and One-Site preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Completion of education/training in related real estate industry courses preferred • Industry related certifications/designations preferred

• Excellent computer skills with advanced working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Extremely detail oriented and self-motivated
• Strong research, analytical, and problem solving skills
• Strong time management and prioritization skills
• Capacity to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks/projects to support transaction timelines
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills involving employees at varying levels.
• Business writing skills.
• Resourceful team player and problem solver
• Courteous, diplomatic, confidentiality and professionalism are compulsory
WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use of hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, count and perform basic arithmetical calculations (add and subtract) and read and write basic English. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk and legally operate equipment. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and or move up to 10 lbs and occasionally lift and or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
TRAVEL TO NEARBY LEASING OFFICES AS DEEMED NECESSARY. OTHERWISE, WILL BE WORKING REMOTELY.
