Performs a wide range of duties related to the preparation of residential mortgage loan closing documents, coordinating all the steps of the loan closing to help ensure a successful and on-time Closing. Job Description
- Perform all functions related to the preparation of conforming and non-conforming mortgage loan closing documents.
- Review the loan file for completeness, per the product profile, prior to the preparation of the Closing Instructions.
- Monitor high cost, TILA violations, and RESPA regulations including review of the Closing Disclosure for accuracy and adherence to the 0% and 10% tolerance rules.
- Communicate details of the Final Closing Disclosure with the MLO, Title Agent, or Attorney.
- Follow-up with the Closing Agent for the Approval of Closing Disclosure and return of the closing document package.
- Audit closing documents and ATC (at time of closing) conditions for completeness prior to submitting the closed loan file to the Post Closing Department.
- Adhere to policies and procedures and comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Other functions as directed by the Closing manager.
- Perform some reporting functions.
- Capable of performing with minimal supervision.
- Hours may vary based on volume.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1-year Residential Mortgage Loan Closing and/or Title experience.
- Experience working with FHA/VA and Construction Perm loan products preferred.
- Strong understanding of RESPA and TRID guidelines and timing requirements, State laws, and regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting time-sensitive deadlines and adapting to changing workloads, while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
- Independent thinking with the ability to identify and manage workflow priorities and complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, e-mail, and internet navigation.
