Job Description
Your duties as an Underwriting Screener for American Income Life include screening applications to determine whether a policy can be issued, or whether various underwriting requirements should be requested. If needed, the Screener orders the appropriate requirements.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Screens applications for unanswered questions, hazardous avocations, indications of impairments, medical history, and determines whether additional UW requirements are needed based on Company guidelines. Reviews MIB (Medical Information Bureau) reports, MVRs (motor vehicle reports), prescription histories, verification call results, oral test results, and previous coverage applications. Orders requirements for applications requiring additional medical and non-medical information or evaluation by an underwriter. Approves applications having no such requirements. Other duties as required by the department.
