  • Responsibilities

    SUMMARY

    Welding Foreman plans, manages, and optimizes the activities of welding personnel in order to safely produce quality welded products in the most efficient manner possible. Responsibilities can be divided into three general categories: (1) quality, (2) productivity, and (3) safety.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead, supervise, and oversee fabrication shop
    • Read blueprints and execute scope of work
    • Liaison with management team to maximize efficiency, quality and customer satisfaction  
    • Ensure production deadlines are met
    • Manage shop equipment and facility and ensure that a safe, orderly condition maintained
    • Understand and strictly adhere to safety and quality guidelines without deviation
    • Develop welding procedures
    • Provide root cause analysis and execute corrective action plans
    • Initiate, coordinate and enforce production, safety, quality systems, policies, and procedures
    • Ensure that all welding meets the specified requirements
    • Ensure that all welding inspection tasks are performed
    • Act as a technical resource and provide employee training
    • Maintain records, inspection results, and performance documentation
    • Prepare clear and concise reports 
    • Other duties may be assigned

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    • High School Diploma and/or College Degree

    • Must have 5+ years' experience in structural steel fabrication and in a production environment

    • Must be bilingual – English and Spanish

    • Solid technical background with hands-on experience in metal fabrication, steel and architectural metals

    • Proficient in construction drawings and blueprint reading

    • Extensive experience in welding, utilization of equipment and overhead cranes

    • Management experience as well as experience ordering materials/shop supplies

    • Excellent communication skills, professional, team-player, and safety focused

    • Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills

    • Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook
