    Job Description

    The Research consultant will be responsible for working with AMS staff to continue to build on AMS’s reputation as the leading Montessori research organization.

    • Reports ****to: Senior Director of Education and Strategic Initiatives
    • Works closely with : Directors from the following areas: Marketing, Professional Development Department, Events, Teacher Education Team, and Membership
    • Liaises with: **** Staff in all areas of the organization
    • Classification: **** Contract up to 10 hours per week.
    • Worksite: **** This is a remote position with periodic work-related travel which is paid for by AMS.

    Responsibilities :

    • Support Board and staff driven strategic initiatives regarding AMS research
    • Support internal AMS research inquiries logistically (e.g., surveys, state data)
    • Coordinate research activities and tasks with internal and committee representatives (e.g., conference preparation, mini-grants, graduate student discounts program, research poster session, website files/documents, teacher research panel, and thesis/dissertation awards, Facebook monitoring)
    • Maintain research documentation and files
    • Prepare analytic reports based on research, surveys, and data
    • Provide website updates on Montessori research in the form of message memos
    • Coordinate communications, including taking calls, responding to emails, and interfacing with members and graduate students to provide research studies and links
    • Create a quarterly research newsletter, with input from the research committee, to disseminate research information to members
    • Serve as a liaison to the AMS Research Committee, and other Montessori Research centers
    • Actively seek member proposals for non-Montessori conference workshops and publications and provide the relevant research they might need, to support
    • Inform of educational landscape past, current, and future for Montessori and beyond
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    The Research Consultant is mission-driven, creative, and self-directed thinker and doer with a minimum of 5 years of research experience in Montessori education and/or other related fields. Montessori credential and school experience preferred.
