The ideal intern will have knowledge of Minnesota music and an interested in radio broadcasting and production. An intern with strong customer service skills for interacting with our audience, familiarity with social media and HTML, and a strong attention to detail would be invaluable in this position. The Current Intern will have an exciting, front-lines experience of working in radio. This is a part-time, 15 - 20 hours per week, paid internship opportunity, running May - August. Pay is $12.50 hourly and exact start and end date and schedule to be determined by intern's school schedule and availability. Application deadline: March 26, 2018 Position Responsibility: Produce logs for various streams featuring local music. Library coding and research Assist with special projects and programs Review and seek out music for airplay Represent The Current in the community at local music events and concerts Required Education and Experience: College student, graduate student, or recent graduate (within 1 year) Exposure to broadcast related courses Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Ability to work efficiently with limited direct supervision. Ability to effectively manage work load and multiple tasks. Detail-oriented. Ability to learn various software programs quickly. Strong interest and knowledge of the music and audience of The Current. Strong writing and editing skills. Preferred Skills and Experience: Experience with HTML helpful. Experience with editing, scheduling, and automation software.
