  • Responsibilities

    This is for the TEI NEC team needing  2 capital contractors will work with application owners for their transport (network engineering / implementation for LAN/WAN) needs for the wireless networks core infrastructure within our Data Centers (we call them NEC’s Network Equipment Center).  Works in collaborative team environment with network and software engineers.   Infrastructure is both physical and virtual (NFV) routers, switches, and load balancers  from Cisco/ Juniper / F5 / A10.  You’ll be:  (job duties)

    • Writing / reviewing MOP’s and/or orchestrating changes working with various equipment engineering teams for how they will power, rack, and stack our network infrastructure equipment including adding / changing all aspects of moving 1's and 0's very fast and very dynamically. 
    • Executing MOP’s (via Change Controls) orchestrated changes . You’ll be able to implement your own mops, have peers (both FTE’s and other contractors) review your mops / changes and review there's following change management and engineering/design governing principles to avoid unexpected results which could impact internal/external customers
    • You’ll be updating ,making design docs, drawings, MOP's, change orchestration in centralized repos like confluence, jira, and Remedy.  
    • You’ll be able to flex with the business, from working at night or even remote. Should be comfortable with working in a fast paced dynamic environment.  We expect most of the time you'll be working a typical 8am to 9pm window.  Ideal profile for contractors for this opportunity: (Desired Skills) 3-5 years working with data center grade transport infrastructure 3-5 years working with one or more of the following vendors with some sort of certifications to back it up: Cisco Juniper F5 A10 HP RedHat 3-5 years installing, commissioning, configuring, and testing transport infrastructure- i.e. they understand layer 1-4 really good. 1-3 years working with Remedy, Confluence, Jira, kanban, HP_NA, Itential, G suite, Granite Excellent communication skills and able work with seamlessly in a team environment, which can digest docs / guidelines to be self-sufficient.  Candidate should have a 4 year STEM type technical degree and passionate about bridging complex network (lan/wan) challenges and solving them with at scale automation efforts These are for backfills for previous contracts which it the 30 month limits.  Position can be out of the following locations (ie report to location) to increase the job seeker pool for best fit: Southlake, TX, Branchburg, NJ, Colorado Springs, CO, or Rocklin, CA

    • Must have good computer skills and be able to use Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Ability to operate forklift helpful.
    • Requires constant standing and walking, exerting up to 75 lbs of force and frequently lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or otherwise moving objects.
    • Strong organizational, communication and time management skills.
    • Assist in bid process for major work.
    • Operate forklift.
    • Ability to report to work at odd hours and weekends to respond to after hours emergencies
