    Job Description

    The position of SBA Portfolio Manager 1 will oversee the SBA 7(a) portfolio which includes the Express and PPP loans.  Assures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as, all applicable state and federal banking regulations.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Oversee all customer communication including request for financial and other information for annual reviews, insurance request and the like
    2. Effectively communicates information and analytical results to SBA Manager
    3. Managing all servicing requests including deferments, substitutions and releases in compliance with Bank and SBA requirements.
    4. Maintains log of servicing actions
    5. Manages late payments with assistance of BDO’s. 
    6. Prepares and updates Credit Administration reports for any poorly performing credits.
    7. Reviews and approves monthly reporting to SBA (1502 and PPP 1502)
    8. Oversees PPP Forgiveness Processing
    9. May assist with special projects in the SBA Departments as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS: 

    These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the position in a satisfactory manner.  Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.

    Prefer Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field from a college or university and 2-3 years prior related experience and/or training in one or more of the following fields: commercial credit, accounting, financial statement preparation/analysis, or other financial analysis. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, a combined minimum of 5 years higher education and/or work experience in financial industry, including 3 to 5 years prior related experience and/or training in one or more of the following fields: SBA lending, commercial credit, accounting, financial statement preparation/analysis, or other financial analysis.  

    • Intermediate to advanced experience, knowledge, skills and training in lending activities, as they pertain to loan underwriting of commercial, construction, and real estate loans.
    • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures.
    • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
    • High level problem solving skills, organizational and time management skills and ability to work independently with general to minimal supervision.
    • Ability to multi-task and work on multiple requests at the same time while effectively managing work schedule and work flow in order to complete work according to established or identified deadlines.
    • Attention to detail, ensures accuracy in every transaction performed with minimal to no errors, follows through on any corrections.
    • Must be highly competent with advanced skills in computer operation; Microsoft suite of applications, including, word processing, spreadsheet, specialty programs, loan software programs and financial software programs. 
    • Advanced math skills; ability to calculate interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs.
    • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate thoughts clearly and apply common sense to carry out instructions, write reports and correspondence, speak clearly and professionally to customers and employees.  Must be able to communicate throughout the organization and to all levels of staff as well as external contacts.
    • Knowledge of Bank products and services.
    • Ability to deal with problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
    • Valid, current Driver’s License and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
