    Job Description

    Amerihope Alliance Legal Services’ is seeking one experienced foreclosure defense paralegal. The Foreclosure Defense Paralegal is responsible to perform various legal, administrative and clerical tasks to support the firm attorneys.

    AALS operates in five (5) states. The Foreclosure Defense Paralegal must have in depth knowledge of the civil and foreclosure defense process in at least one (1) of our five (5) judicial states, and be willing and motivated to learn the process in our other states.

    We represent homeowners in: Florida, Illinois, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania

    We have an immediate opening for a Paralegal with civil litigation experience handling defendant’s-side foreclosure cases in our PLANTATION, FL office. The paralegal must be organized, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast paced, high-volume office environment and must be capable of making independent decisions. Must have good research and investigation skills and understand legal terms.

    SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES/FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

    • HELP TO OUTLINE STRATEGIC PLANS FOR CLIENTS’ DEFENSE

    • DRAFT, UPLOAD AND FILE ANSWERS AND AFFIRMATIVE DEFENSES

    • Prepare various motions and notices such as motions for extension of time, motions to cancel sales

    • Schedule hearings, meditations and trials and meet all court deadlines

    • Coordinate consent judgments

    • Coordinate and schedule hearings with the JA’s and opposing counsels

    • E-file in state E-filing Portals: FL, IL, NJ, NY & PA

    • File via mail when necessary

    • Update clients via telephone calls and online portal, Clio, as required

    • Submit documents for client review and execution

    • Any other responsibilities assigned by the Manager and/or Team Lead, as applicable

    Competencies:

    • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

    • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills

    • Detail-oriented

    • Exceptional oral and written communication skills

    • Excellent proofreading skills

    PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • A minimum of two (2) years' of foreclosure experience, preferred

    • Experience with Clio and Gmail/Google for Business

    • Bilingual / Spanish-speaking is a plus
