LOCATION: SAN DIEGO CA 92121

DURATION: 12 MONTHS + POSSIBLE EXTENSION

POSITION WILL START REMOTE UNTIL COVID RESTRICTIONS ARE LIFTED, OTHERWISE POSITION WOULD BE WORKING ONSITE

As a Sr. Software Quality Engineer, you will contribute to the creation and execution of the development team’s system test strategy and may have independent responsibility for the verification activities of one or more software system features in support of a cross functional development team.

The system testing responsibilities are inclusive of the user-facing applications, API’s, web-services, interfaces to other hospital information systems, and databases. The system test strategy is collaboratively developed based on requirements analysis, feature grooming, and user story refinement activities.

In this role, the individual will be involved in performing testing activities within all phases of development and is comprised of functional testing, usability testing, integration testing, performance testing, and other non-functional areas of the system. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record of successfully verifying software for release to market, collaboration with the various product development team stakeholders, and who has experience working with both local and co-located teams.

• Must have Strong Knowledge of database backend testing, hands-on developing complex SQL queries, UI, functional testing, Workflow, and use case testing.
• Must be well versed with debugging of Stored Procedures and Profiler use. Provide independent verification of software products that have been developed according to pre-approved software design requirements and specifications. Independently develops, maintains and executes test cases both manual and automated. Discovers, documents and tracks software defects in a bug database.
• Plans and implements the setup of test environments to perform functional testing of integrated software and hardware in a lab setting.
• Facilitates the core project team to ensure all facets of software product testing is accomplished within project timelines.
• Develops, publishes, and implements test plans.
• Requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and at least 5 years of industry experience coding in C++ and/or C#.
• Writes and maintains test automation.
• Develops quality assurance standards. Knowledge of software quality engineering and testing methods at all levels (unit, integration, system, V&V, acceptance) applied within the software development lifecycle. Experience using Visual Studio/TFS, Test Manager, Azure DevOps, Coded UI.
• Ability to apply and use software quality tools for test case management, test automation, and defect tracking management. Certified Software Quality Engineering ASQ certification is a plus.
