    AMETEK Thermal Management Systems is seeking a seasoned accounting leader to be the Assistant Controller to lead financial reporting operations, SOX compliance, and process improvement. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, streamlining and automating the close process for the company while maintaining a high level of accuracy and integrity of the financial statements by embedding, executing, monitoring and assessing controls throughout. This position will be reporting to the BU Controller.
    Responsibilities:

    • Organize Business Unit accounting operations and financial statement close process as a critical contributor of the entire financial reporting process. This role and the team that reports to this role partner closely with all key finance and cross-functional teams to plan, coordinate, and execute all steps.
    • High level of team specific areas of responsibilities include, but not limited to: close calendar, chart of accounts and setups, financial statement consolidation, system close tools, disclosures and contribution to SEC reporting packages.
    • Manage the overall implementation and maintenance of the accounting systems: Journal entries, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, Revenue Reconciliation, Cash Flows, etc. in accordance with GAAP and SOX policies and procedures
    • Ensure accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data and revenue
    • Assist all financial reporting responsibility areas to monitor the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting. Assist in the assessment of any control exceptions and coordinate closely with internal audit function and independent auditors.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams. Utilize strong business and accounting acumen coupled with strong communication skills to effectively facilitate information flow between cross-functional business partners and the Finance organization.
    • Lead and coach a team of high-performing accounting professionals.
    • Manage third-party service provider relationships to ensure operational excellence. Streamline, automate and transform the financial statement close process to add more value to the business and to advance team development.

     

     

     

    Position Requirements:
    • 10+ years of accounting experience in accounting and financial reporting operation of a Fortune 200 publicly-traded company.

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance
    • Both technical and operational Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS
    • Experience with transformational accounting process and reporting automation initiatives and an experienced people leader to influence stakeholders and to attract and develop talent
