CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Carry out all responsibilities assigned to senior refrigeration technicians, ensuring compliance with internal protocols and documented operational standards.
Inspect and monitor ammonia system valves located on the facility’s rooftop, along with external heat exchangers and ventilation units.
Conduct advanced mechanical repairs and major refurbishments on refrigeration systems and related equipment, guided by manufacturer specifications and widely accepted engineering principles.
Interpret detailed electrical schematics, troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and assess power distribution systems to diagnose faults and implement corrective measures.
Perform refrigerant charging, system evacuation, and pressure integrity tests during maintenance projects, including line breaks, while adhering to all internal safety policies and industry regulations.
Replace or install refrigeration components and auxiliary systems in alignment with formal change management protocols.
Evaluate operational data and system trends to recommend adjustments to maintenance cycles or enhancements to current procedures and safety practices.
Support management by overseeing third-party contractor tasks around processing equipment, ensuring work quality and adherence to safety standards are properly documented.
Develop solutions for identified deficiencies in system operations as highlighted in Process Safety Management (PSM) audits and maintain thorough records of corrective actions.
Offer mentorship and technical training to entry-level refrigeration personnel, fostering skill development and knowledge transfer within the team.
Serve on the facility’s emergency response team and take part in actions involving hazardous material incidents, including chemical leaks or spills.
