Ammonia Technician - Manufacturing - Base Salary to 45.00/hour - Bartlett, IL

The Ammonia Technician is responsible for maintaining and operating ammonia systems in commercial and industrial environments including inspection, testing, repair, replacement of components, monitoring and controlling ammonia levels and following safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
Routine maintenance, repairs, safety checks, inspections, modifications, and upgrades on ammonia refrigeration systems.
Troubleshooting and diagnosing faults on ammonia refrigeration systems.
Installation, testing, and commissioning of ammonia refrigeration systems.
Coordination and supervision of contractors working on ammonia refrigeration systems and related equipment.
Overseeing the boiler treatment program and boiler inspections.
Preparing parts lists and purchase requisitions.
Creating accurate, clear, complete, and concise reports.
Maintaining records of all work performed and equipment inspections.
Completing forms such as contractor time sheets, parts used from inventory log, and work orders.
Preparing draft RFE descriptions for Ammonia and Boiler systems.
Performing routine preventative maintenance procedures on all plant equipment, including refrigeration equipment, and completing associated paperwork.
Dismantling, inspecting, repairing, and re-assembling any standard machine or equipment commonly used in the department.
Proficiently utilizing calipers, feelers, micrometers, etc., to perform chemical tests on boiler water to ensure correct operation.
Coordinating predictive testing on the ammonia system.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required.
2+ years' experience with ammonia refrigeration in the food industry is required
Operator I or Operator II or RETA certifications
Knowledge of operating and troubleshooting ammonia refrigeration systems.
Knowledge of ammonia safety regulations.
Ability to read and interpret ammonia piping diagrams.
Understanding of Health and Safety regulations.
Ability to read technical manuals and understand technical drawings.
Ability to work 2nd OR 3rd shift (1 opening on each shift)
Compensation:
Base salary to 45.00/hour
Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance after 30 days of service
401k match up to 3.5%
Overtime available to bring home 25%+ additional income
