Job Description

We are looking for a Backend Software engineer to join a talented team of people creating new products targeting the human microbiome. You will be joining a highly collaborative team of scientists, physicians, engineers, marketers and salespeople who share a common goal: Improving human health by using the latest research from microbiology, molecular biology, genomics, distributed computing, pharmaceutical development and nutrition. You will assist in building products that will help improve the lives of people globally.

For this role we are seeking someone comfortable working in backend software engineering and build/release/development operations. You will be charged with design, build, test, deployment and monitoring of cloud services for both R&D and manufacturing. You will work with scientists in the lab, as well as data scientists, developing data-analysis workflows and other software products You will develop and manage internal facing software for high throughput bioinformatics pipelines written in Python. You will improve the codebase to make it easier for data scientists to write and debug data analysis workflows. All of your work will assist in the processing of biological data.

You will own your own design, user feedback, development, etc. You will collaborate with all of the stakeholders directly, and have the freedom to define your own projects.

Technical Requirements Include:

-Solid Python programming experience

-AWS - Data Analytics

-Experience setting up and managing AWS containerization (Docker/Beanstalk or other AWS compatible container management)

-REST APIs

-Data Pipeline and Data Workflow
