    POSITION SUMMARY:  _FIELD APPLICATIONS ENGINEER

    LOCATION: SAN JOSE, CA OR OPTIONAL SEATTLE, WA     

    AICC, a division of Amphenol, is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors and cables for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobil Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.).  Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEM’s globally.  Our headquarters are located in Nashua, NH and we have design, sales and manufacturing locations globally. We are currently seeking a Field Applications Engineer to join our Data Center team.  The position will be located in San Jose, CA or optional Seattle, WA.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Our customer’s ultimate success depends on our ability to solve cutting edge problems in relation to high bandwidth and I/O signal transmission.  We take our relationships with these companies very seriously and representing our company in front of these clients.  We depend on our Sales and Field Applications Engineering Team.

    You will interface with our external customers and internal product development, product marketing and sales teams:

    • Advise customers on how to solve complex interconnect problems
    • Be the engineering resource on the sales team, leading technical aspects of the sales cycle
    • Help devise strategies to differentiate our products and solutions from our competitors
    • You will be required to be seen as an expert in your field meaning, customers gain real value in their interactions with you
    • Some travel will be required.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelors in Engineering field or equivalent

      • Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Computer Science preferred

      • The role will draw on either your electronic engineering background (signal transmission, EMI/EMC, signal integrity) and / or your mechanical engineering background (materials, tolerance analysis, CAD tools).

    • Experience in design or applications engineering of electrical hardware components/ interconnect solutions industry.

    • Displayed experience providing product marketing and sales technical support to produce design wins

      SKILLS:

    • Ability to effectively communicate across the engineering and managerial functions of a business

    • Strong organization and presentation skills

    • High level customer service and ability to build relationships with customers

    • Modeling tools - Solidworks and Pro E

    • Microsoft Office Products
